Maple Avenue Home and School is a 501(c) non-profit comprised of a 4 member board with each role a 2 year position, coordinators, and general volunteers. Positions that are currently needing to be filled may be found on our Volunteer page. Home and School also has a number of volunteers in coordinator positions. Below is a list of coordinator positions. Please consider volunteering today to help us help our school.

Volunteers needed for 2024-2025 school year

  • Fun Run Team (shadow leader roles)

  • Book Fair Team

  • Art Crawl Team

  • Conference Dinners

  • LEGO® Block Nights shadow

  • 4th Grade Formal

  • Organizes the school supply boxes available for purchase to ease your students first day supply collection.

  • Works directly with the Art Teacher to coordinate themes and general flow of the Art Crawl. The Art Crawl consists of a coordinator and a number of helpers as it is one of our largest and highly attended events.

    Team Members needed for 2024

  • Organizes the various book fairs including the Barnes and Noble Day in December. We have two book fairs at school, one aligning with the Harvest Dance and the other a weeklong event starting with the Art Crawl.

    Team Member needed for 2023-2024

  • Contacts and organizes dates with local restaurants that offer a kickback on certain dates.

  • Organizes the signup through signup genius for dinners for teachers and staff during Conference Time. Coordination occurs 2 times during the year.

  • Organizes the fun, the food, the decorations, and the merriment for the Fall Harvest Dance.

  • Coordinates the “extra” fundraisers: City Tins, Sussex Bowl sales, Admirals game, Wave game, etc.

  • Coordinates the fundraising efforts behind our biggest fundraiser. Collects all the donations from the school, decides prizes, and helps decide what improvements the kids are raising money for.

    Team Member needed for 2024-2025

  • Coordinates the Lego® Nights held quarterly. Adjusts the LEGO® bins as necessary.

  • Adjusts the Outdoor Sign on a monthly basis for relevant dates for the school.

  • Organizes and helps run the popsicles on the playground - an event before school starts that works to gather Maple students, staff, and families for fun.

  • Coordinates the Raise Right program. Selects dates, sends all promotional material, collects funds and organizes distribution.

  • Organizes the Staff Appreciation week held in May. Helps with lunches and special recognition for Maple Avenue Staff.

  • Contacts Staff at Maple for lists of the favorite things during times for parents’ reference leading up to Winter Break and End of School.

  • Organizes Spirit Wear sale dates and sale items.

    Coordinator needed 2024-2025

  • Organizes the fun, the food, the decorations, and the merriment for the Spring Formal Dance for 4th Graders.

    Team Member needed for 2024

  • Coordinates the Spring Movie Night where Maple families join in merriment on school grounds to enjoy a movie together.

  • Collects information and organizes it in print form for the school directory.

  • Coordinates with district nurses vision and hearing screening for the student of Maple Avenue.

  • Updates the website a couple of times a year to adjust the calendar, coordinator/board volunteer positions, and highlight our large events, the Fun Run and the Art Crawl. Knowledge of square space or website building is helpful, but not necessary.

HOME AND SCHOOL BOARD - 2 year positions

  • Heide Hongsermeier

    Heide Hongsermeier

    Co-President

    Heide has been involved in Home and School since 2022. She has a daughter, Sabine (4th) and son, Aksel (2nd). In addition to being on the board, she developed and runs the website, produces the newsletter, and ran the auction for the Art Crawl last year. Outside of Home and School, Heide owns and operates Wild Iris Photography and is an organist at North Shore Congregational church.

  • Erin Bellin

    Erin Bellin

    Co-President

    Erin joined Home and School starting the 2023-2024 school year. She has a daughter, Nora (4th) and son, Evan (2nd). She recently got a new job allowing her more availability to be more involved and jumped at the opportunity. She’s highly organized and looking to make a difference in streamlining processes used by the board. This will help future boards run more smoothly. She will be working to help create agendas, lead meetings, checking in with coordinators to ensure events are on schedule, and answer emails. Erin works as a Physical Therapist at Body in Balance.

  • Stacie Krueger

    Treasurer

    The 2023-2024 school year will mark the 4th year of Stacie's volunteering with a board position. Stacie has a son, Thomas (4th) and daughter, Emelia (5k). The treasurer is one of the most important roles of the Home and School team. The treasurer manages all income and expenses for Home and School. Also responsible for all reimbursements and the Home and School budget.

  • Tiffany Cohen

    Tiffany Cohen

    Secretary

    Tif has been involved with Home and School since 2019. She joined the board as Secretary starting the 2023-2024 school year. She believes in celebrating all families and ensuring all are being seen and celebrated. In addition to Secretary, Tif is the recurring Art Crawl coordinator. Many of the collaborative school wide art pieces to be installed throughout the school have started with her - such as the large block printing and ceramic projects.

  • Emilee jedlicka

    Emilee Jedlicka

    Shadow Treasurer

    Emilee is currently a stay at home mom to 2 kids - Eddy (2nd grade) and Ellis (4k). She comes to Home and School with 9 years experience in accounting before stepping back to enjoy time with her family. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. Her skills, both accounting and personally make her an excellent addition to the Home and School Board and Team. She is looking forward to making connections with other parents and community members and is excited to help make Maple Avenue the absolute best for staff and students.
